4'-Ethynyl-2'-deoxyadenosine (4'-E-dA), a nucleoside reverse transcriptase (RT) inhibitor, is an antiretroviral agent which is potent against drug-resistant HIV variants, with an EC 50 of 98 nM in MT-4 cells for anti-HIV-1 activity. 4'-Ethynyl-2'-deoxyadenosine is a click chemistry reagent, it contains an Alkyne group and can undergo copper-catalyzed azide-alkyne cycloaddition (CuAAc) with molecules containing Azide groups.
