Glabrol (Compound 1), One isoprenyl flavonoid was isolated from ethanol extract of licorice roots, is a potent and non-competitive Acyl-coenzyme A: cholesterol acyltransferase ( ACAT ) inhibitor with an IC 50 value of 24.6 μM for rat liver microsomal ACAT activity.
