5-nitrobenzimidazole is a genotoxic nitro compound and 6-aminopurine ( HY-B0152 ) analogue. 5-nitrobenzimidazole shows a slight inhibitory effect on xanthine oxidase , with an IC 50 of 86.84 μM. 5-nitrobenzimidazole can be used in the research of hyperuricemia.
