Overview

4,4-Dimethyl-2-cyclopenten-1-one (4,4-Dimethylcyclopent-2-enone) is a β-unsubstituted cyclic α,β-unsaturated ketone and anticancer agent. 4,4-Dimethyl-2-cyclopenten-1-one does not activate Caspase 3 , 8 or 9, nor does it induce internucleosomal DNA fragmentation. 4,4-Dimethyl-2-cyclopenten-1-one exhibits anticancer activity against oral squamous cell carcinoma and promyelocytic leukemia.
