Dorsomorphin is a potent and selective inhibitor of AMPK (AMP-activated protein kinase) (Ki = 109 nM), induced by AICAR and metformin. It also inhibits bone morphogenetic protein (BMP) receptors including BMPR-IA (ALK3) and BMPR-IB (ALK6). Dorsomorphin can induce myocardial differentiation in mouse embryonic stem cells (mESCs).
