SB87-Cl

Overview

SB87-Cl is a halogenated benzophenone antibiotic that can be isolated from fungi of the genus Pestalotiopsis . SB87-Cl exhibits strong antibacterial activity against Gram-positive bacteria, but is accompanied by cytotoxicity to mammalian cells. SB87-Cl can be used in studies of Staphylococcus aureus infection , methicillin (Methicillin ( HY-121544 ))-resistant Staphylococcus aureus (MRSA) infection , and vancomycin (Vancomycin ( HY-B0671 ))-susceptible Enterococcus faecium (VSE) infection .
