Fagomine ( HY-13005 ), an analog of (2R,3R,4R)-2-hydroxymethylpiperidine-3,4-diol, exhibits weak inhibitory activity against hepatic glycogen phosphorylase , while its isomer Isofagomine ( HY-14829 ) possesses potent inhibitory activity. (2R,3R,4R)-2-Methylpiperidine-3,4-diol can be used in studies related to type 2 diabetes.
