Overview

CbzNH-PEG2-CH2CH2NH2 functions as a PEG linker containing an amine group and a benzyl (Cbz) protecting group. The PEG2 spacer elevates the water solubility of the compound. Amine group is reactive with carboxylic acids, activated NHS esters, carbonyls (ketone, aldehyde), etc. The benzyl protecting group can be removed via hydrogenolysis to form a free amine.
