PEG8-SATA (S-acetyl-PEG8-NHS ester)

Overview

PEG8-SATA (S-acetyl-PEG8-NHS ester) includes a water-soluble PEG8 chain between a protected thiol and an NHS ester, permitting it to thiolate molecules with amines and react in aqueous solutions without needing organic solvents. The PEG chain also decreases protein aggregation and precipitation, and the acetyl-protecting group can be easily removed with hydroxylamine hydrochloride to expose the sulfhydryl moiety.
