4-Benzyloxybutanal is a linker with an acid labile, benzyl protecting group and a reactive primary aldehyde. The primary aldehyde can react with hydrazide and aminooxy groups which are commonly used in biomolecular probes for labeling and crosslinking carbonyls (oxidized carbohydrates).
