Overview

PtdIns-(3)-P1 (1,2-dioctanoyl), sodium salt is a synthetic analog of natural phosphatidylinositol (PtdIns) with octanoyl (C8:0) fatty acids at the sn-1 and sn-2 positions. This compound maintains the same stereochemistry for both the inositol and diacylglycerol (DAG) portions as the natural version. PtdIns-(3)-P1 can undergo phosphorylation by phosphatidylinositol (PI)-specific kinases, resulting in the formation of phosphoinositide intermediates such as PtdIns-P2 (PIP2) and PtdIns-P3 (PIP3).
