Overview

3-Ethynyl perylene is a polyaromatic hydrocarbon with five fused rings and has a terminal propargyl group. 3-Ethynyl perylene possesses intrinsic fluorescence and pyrene derivatives are known for their ability to intercalate dsDNA. The propargyl group can react with azide-bearing compounds to form stable triazole rings.
