PEG4-SATA (S-actyl-PEG 4-NHS ester)

Overview

PEG4-SATA (S-actyl-PEG 4-NHS ester) features a water-soluble PEG4 spacer between a protected thiol and an NHS ester, allowing it to thiolate molecules with amines and react in aqueous solutions without needing organic solvents. The PEG spacer also reduces protein aggregation and precipitation, and the acetyl-protecting group can be easily removed with hydroxylamine hydrochloride to free the sulfhydryl moiety.
