Overview

6,8-Difluoro-7-Hydroxy-4-Methylcoumarin NHS Ester (Marina Blue® NHS Ester) delivers a vivid blue fluorescence with an emission peak around 460 nm. It is optimally excited by 365 nm light from a mercury-arc lamp and best detected using DAPI optical filters. Its low pKa ensures strong fluorescence even in neutral pH environments. This reagent efficiently labels proteins, peptides, and nucleic acids via its NHS ester group, forming stable amide bonds with primary amines.
