(15Z)-N-(2-Hydroxyethyl)-15-tetracosenamide is a lipid with an unstaurated fatty acid tail and a hydroxy group as the polar head. It is a member of the family of fatty N-acyl ethanolamines collectively called endocannabinoids. The hydroxyl group enables further derivatization or replacement with other reactive functional groups.
