Tenofovir exalidex

Overview

Tenofovir exalidex is a lipid-conjugated acyclic nucleotide analog with potent activity against wild-type and drug-resistant HIV strains, including multidrug-resistant variants. It is effective against HIV-1 and HIV-2 subtypes in PBMCs and macrophages, with EC50s between 0.2 and 7.2 nM. CMX157 is orally bioavailable and non-toxic, also exhibiting antiviral activity against HBV.
