Miltefosine inhibits CTP:phosphocholine cytidylyltransferase (CCT) and reduces liposome-induced CCT activity in MDCK cell homogenates. It induces CCT translocation from the membrane to the cytosol and inhibits phosphatidylcholine biosynthesis in MDCK and HeLa cells. Miltefosine also inhibits phosphatidylserine-activated PKC and PMA-induced morphological changes and proliferation in MDCK cells.
