| Uses | Arvanil is a cannabinoid CB1?and vanilloid TRPV1 (VR) agonist. | | Biological Activity | Cannabinoid CB 1 and vanilloid TRPV1 (VR1) agonist (K i values are 0.5 and 0.3 μ M respectively). Also inhibits the anandamide transporter (IC 50 = 3.6 μ M). Analgesic, vasodilatory and anti-inflammatory in vivo . | | Biochem/physiol Actions | Arvanil is an activator of cannabinoid and vanilloid receptors, and a potent inhibitor of anandamide accumulation. Arvanil inhibits growth of astrocytoma xenograft tumors in mice, mimicing the effect of neural precursor cells, that have been shown to kill TRPV1-expressing tumor cells by secreting endovanilloids. |
