Uses	Cinchophen and its derivatives can show antipyretic, analgesic, anti-oxidative, and anti-inflammatory properties.

World Health Organization (WHO)	Cinchophen, an analgesic and antipyretic, was formerly available in preparations for the treatment of gout. Its use was associated with adverse effects including hepatitis, cirrhosis, skin lesions and angioneurotic oedema. WHO has no information to suggest that preparations containing cinchophen remains commercially available.
Purification Methods	It crystallises from EtOH (ca 20mL/g), in several modifications with m 196o and 216o(subliming at 65o). [Beilstein 22 H 103, 22 II 518, 22 II 70, 22 III/IV 1358.]
