UsesTetraethyl methylidenebisphosphonate, can be used in the synthesis of tetrazoloquinoline-based mono- and bisphosphonate esters as potent anti-inflammatory agents. It is also an intermediate for the synthesis of new bisphosphonate and bisphosphonic acid derivatives with anticancer and antischistosomal activity.
