| Uses | Troponin I from human heart can be used in studies whether the actin and aldolase can protect rabbit muscle lactate dehydrogenase inhibition by ascorbate or not. | | General Description | Native troponin I purified from human heart. Inhibitory subunit of troponin that binds to actin in the absence of Ca2+, thus inhibiting the ATPase activity of actomyosin. Presence of Tnl in plasma has been used for early detection of myocardial infarction. Useful as a standard in immunoassay and as an immunogen for anti-sera production. Also useful as a tracer for iodination. | | Biochem/physiol Actions | Troponin I interacts with tropomyosin for regulating the contraction of striated muscle in a calcium-dependent manner.
