General DescriptionDiethyl methylmalonate reacts with 2-cyclohexenone under abnormal Michael conditions form 2-(3-oxocyclohexyl)-2-cyclohexenone. It causes the alkylation of poly(chloromethylstyrene) during pahse transfer catalysis.
