2-Chloropyrazine Usage And Synthesis

Uses	2-Chloropyrazine is used in cardiotonic, in biological, drug, flavoring and perfumery industry.
Application	2-Chloropyrazine is used as a reagent in the synthesis of hetaryloxy benzoxaborole compounds which have antimalarial activity. 2-Chloropyrazine is also used to prepare 4,5-disubstituted 6-aryloxy-1,3-dihydrobenzo[c][1,2]oxaboroles which are broad-spectrum serine β-lactamase inhibitors.
Purification Methods	Fractionally distil it through a short column packed with glass helices. It has apenetrating, mildly pungent odour with a high vapour pressure at room temperature. [Erickson & Spoerri J Am Chem Soc 68 400 1946, Hetman & O.Donnell J Org Chem 28 1682 1963, Beilstein 23/5 V 366.]
