Uses	4,6-Dimethoxy-2-(methylsulfonyl)pyrimidine was used to prepare nonpeptidic endothelin-A receptor antagonists.
Uses	4,6-Dimethoxy-2-(methylsulfonyl)pyrimidine may be used in the microwave assisted preparation of 4,6-dimethoxy-N-methylpyrimidin-2-amine by reacting with methylamine. It may also be used to prepare 2′-pyrimidinecarbonylsulfonanilide derivatives with potent herbicidal activity.
General Description	4,6-Dimethoxy-2-(methylsulfonyl)pyrimidine can be prepared by the oxidation of 2-methylthio-4,6-dimethoxypyrimidine.
