Chemical Properties	White powder. Soluble in hot water, ethanol; soluble with difficulty in cold water and acetone; not dissociated in benzene and chloroform solutions; distinctly different from the isomeric adduct of trimethylamine oxide and sulfur dioxide.
Uses	Reactant for sulfation reactions involving: Synthesis of sulfate-conjugated resveratrol metabolites Chitooligosaccharides used for anti-HIV-1 activity Dodecyl thioglycopyranoside used as a surfactant for enantiomeric separation Glycosaminoglycans which facilitate activation of signaling pathways dependent on sulfation pattern Polysaccharides as heparan sulfate mimetics Nucleophile for the synthesis of α-tosyloxy ketones
Uses	Separation of isomers, soil sterilant, catalyst for thermosetting resins.
