Application	2-Hydroxybutyric acid sodium salt was used in gas chromatographic (GC) method for the indirect enantioresolution of 2- and 3-hydroxy fatty acids.
Uses	Sodium 2-Hydroxybutyrate is used to prepare (D)-β-Hydroxybutyrate, which inhibits adipocyte lipolysis, in a pharmacological study.
