Anticancer Research	It is also called as untriacontane, a solid, long-chain alkane hydrocarbon. It isobtained from different plants like peas (Pisum sativum), Acacia senegal, andGymnema sylvestris. A kind of pleiotrophic effect induced by the tumor promoter isthe inhibition of gap junctional intracellular communication, and this cell-cellcommunication is restored by low concentrations of hentriacontane (Murakamiet al. 1996).
