Chromic chloride hexahydrate Usage And Synthesis

Chemical Properties	Chromic chloride hexahydrate is greenish-black to violet deliquescent crystals. soluble in water, ethanol, slightly soluble in acetone, insoluble in ether. It can be used as mordant, chromium additive, chromium reagent for trivalent chromium plating. It can also be used as raw material for the production of other chromium salts and chromium-containing pigments.
Uses	Chromium(III) chloride hexahydrate is used as an organic synthesis catalyst and as an additive to intravenous solutions.
Uses	Chromium(III) chloride (CrCl3. 6H2O) hexahydrate can be used:As a source of chromium(II), which is in turn used as a catalyst in iodovinylation of aldehydes (Takai reaction).In the synthesis of chromium(III) complexes of tetradentate Schiff bases.In the preparation of Cr(III)-fatty acid complexes which can further be used as a catalyst for the synthesis of 1-monoacyIgIyceroIs.In combination with choline chloride as a deep eutectic solvent, which can be utilized as a catalyst for the esterification of formic and acetic acid with alcohols.
