| Description | Mal-PEG3-alcohol is a PEG linker containing a maleimide group and a hydroxyl group. The hydrophilic PEG spacer increases solubility in aqueous media. The hydroxyl group enables further derivatization or replacement with other reactive functional groups. The maleimide group will react with a thiol group to form a covalent bond, enabling the connection of biomolecule with a thiol. | | Uses | Mal-PEG3-alcohol was used in investigating the differential reactivity of bromoacetyl and maleimide functions with thiols which was applied to the design of highly immunogenic liposomal diepitope constructs (as vaccines). |
