Uses	A metabolite of Dopamine and Noradrenaline.
Uses	α-Methyl-DL-tyrosine methyl ester hydrochloride has been used to evaluate norepinephrine turnover.
Biochem/physiol Actions	α-Methyl-DL-tyrosine (α-MT) prevents hyperactivity, sniffing-licking-gnawing syndrome, anorexia and ameliorates certain effects of amphetamine. It inhibits dopamine production and prevents apoptosis stimulated by mutant α-synuclein.
