Chemical Properties	white, odorless; deliquescent; evolves flammable phosphine when heated strongly; strong reducing agent, e.g., explodes when triturated with chlorates or other oxidizing agents; used as reducing agent in the electroless plating of nickel onto plastics [MER06]
Uses	Sodium hypophosphite hydrate is widely used as an esterification catalyst. It may be used to compose the finishing solutions for the incorporation of benzophenone (photoinitiator) onto cotton fabrics.
