Chemical Properties	Selenium chloride is white-yellow deliquescent powder/pieces in appearance with a pungent/ garlic odour. Selenium chloride is non-flammable and on exposure to heat undergoes decomposition and emits toxic fumes of selenium and chloride.
Uses	Fluorinating agent.
Uses	It is used in the synthesis of other selenium compounds.
Hazard	Irritant.
Safety Profile	Poison by subcutaneous route. When heated to decomposition it emits very toxic fumes of Se and Cl-. See also SELENIUM COMPOUNDS.
