Benzyl-PEG5-azide

Overview

Benzyl-PEG5-azide is a PEG linker containing a benzyl protecting group and an azide moiety. Benzyl is an alcohol protecting group which can be removed via hydrogenolysis. The azide moiety can participate in copper-catalyzed Click Chemistry reactions with alkynes, DBCO and BCN. The hydrophilic PEG spacer increases the water solubility of compounds in aqueous media.
