4-Amino-1-butanol posesses a terminal amine and hydroxylic group. Amino groups are reactive with carboxylic acids, activated NHS esters, carbonyls (ketone, aldehyde) etc. The hydroxyl group enables further derivatization or replacement with other reactive functional groups.
