Bisaramil hydrochloride reduces cardiac conduction velocity, increases the threshold current for capture and atrial fibrillation, and prolongs the effective refractory period. Bisaramil hydrochloride reduces ventricular arrhythmias and eliminates mortality caused by ventricular fibrillation in ischemic rat hearts.
