Aluminum potassium sulfate acts as a mordant to help dyes bind to tissue components, enhancing the staining effect and stability during staining. Aluminum potassium sulfate can induce allergic reactions in mice. Aluminum potassium sulfate can be used in research for bacterial and tissue staining.
