Basmisanil

Overview

Basmisanil is a highly selective inverse agonist/negative allosteric modulator GABAAα5 receptors. It was developed by Roche to treat cognitive impairment associated with Down syndrome. In Apr 2016, Roche completed the phase II in Down syndrome (In adolescents, In adults) in USA, Argentina, Canada, France, Italy, Mexico, New Zealand, Singapore, Spain and the UK. In Sep 2016, Phase-II clinical trials in Neurological disorders (In adults, In the elderly) in Spain was on going.
