N-butyl Lithocholic Acid

Overview

N-butyl lithocholic acid is a derivative of the secondary bile acid lithocholic acid. Lipid nanoparticles (LNPs) formulated with N-butyl lithocholic acid and encapsulating an mRNA vaccine encoding influenza hemagglutinin demonstrate reduced toxicity in the heart, spleen, and liver compared to LNPs containing cholesterol in mice.
