Overview

2-(n-Hexadecanoylamino)-4-nitrophenol is a lipid comprised of pentadecanoic acid and a terminal nitrophenol. The nitrophenol group can be used in the preparation of more advanced pharmaceutical compounds. 2'-Hydroxy-5'-nitrohexadecanamide inhibits lysosomal hydrolase, which is an enzyme that breaks down cellular lipids.
