2-Hydroxytetradecanoic Acid

Overview

2-Hydroxytetradecanoic Acid is a biological fatty acid and has been shown to inhibit the growth of human pathogens in vitro. The terminal carboxylic acid can react with primary amine groups in the presence of activators (e.g. HATU) to form a stable amide bond. The hydroxyl group enables further derivatization or replacement with other reactive functional groups.
