Bempedoic acid

Overview

Bempedoic acid is a prodrug converted to ETC-1002-CoA, which inhibits ATP citrate lyase and activates AMP-activated protein kinase (AMPK). It suppresses lipid synthesis in hepatocytes and reduces hepatic cholesterol and aortic atherosclerotic lesions in mice on a high-fat diet.
