Overview

4-Methylumbelliferyl Palmitate is a fluorogenic substrate for lipase found in human leukocytes. The enzymatic action of lysosomal acid lipase leads to the cleavage of 4-Methylumbelliferyl palmitate, resulting in the release of a fluorescent moiety. Additionally, various acid lipases can also cleave 4-Methylumbelliferyl palmitate.
