9-trans-Hexadecenol is a male sex pheromone that can be isolated from the labial glands of Scandinavian bumblebees (Bombus pratorum & Bombus lapidarius). 9-trans-Hexadecenol leaves marks unpredictably on small areas along the edges of birch leaves.
