Overview

Ara-guanosine Triphosphate (Ara-GTP), the arabinofuranosyl guanine 5′-triphosphate of nelarabine, pairs a 2′-inverted arabinosyl sugar, guanine base, and high-energy γ-β-α phosphates, seamlessly replacing dGTP in DNA to halt polymerases and provoke lethal strand damage.
