DSPE-NHS

Overview

DSPE-NHS is an NHS phospholipid molecule with a hydrophilic phosphate head connected to two hydrophobic saturated fatty acids by a glycerol molecule. In water, the molecule can orient itself into a lipid bilayer and can be used for drug encapsulation, such as drug-loaded liposomes or nanoparticles. The NHS ester directly and efficiently reacts with amine-bearing molecules.
