5-Aminosalicylic acid (Mesalamine) acts as a specific PPARγ agonist and also inhibits p21-activated kinase 1 ( PAK1 ) and NF-κB . 5-Aminosalicylic acid can inhibit the activity of osteopontin (OPN).
