Esculin

Overview

Esculin is a glucoside found in horse chestnuts. Esculin is a bittering agent. Naringin dihydrochalcone obtained by hydrolysis and hydrogenation of this product is a sweetener with a sweetness of about 150 times that of sucrose. Esculin protects cells against DNA damage and reduces ROS levels. Carcinogenesis inhibitor.
