β-Carotene

Overview

β-Carotene is an organic compound and classified as a terpenoid. It is a precursor (inactive form) of vitamin A. β-carotene is widely used in the food industry, feed industry, medicine and cosmetics industry. β-carotene is an important part of the non-enzymatic defense mechanism against free radicals, which can effectively slow down aging while protecting against UV damage.
