Sulfapyridine

Overview

Sulfapyridine, a major metabolite of Sulfasalazine, is a sulfonamide antibiotic agent. Sulfapyridine inhibits recombinant P. carinii dihydropteroate synthetase (DHPS) with an IC 50 of 0.18 μM. Sulfapyridine has antibacterial , anti-inflammatory and anti-rheumatic activities.
