Meglutol is a lipid-lowering agent. Meglutol can reduces cholesterol , triglycerides, serum β-lipoprotein, and phospholipids , and inhibits the activity of HMG-CoA reductase (a rate-limiting enzyme in cholesterol biosynthesis).
